In 1826, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce took the first photograph in the world,
still preserved today. 200 years later, billions of new images are created every day. Most vanish in the stream. Some
outlast their time. This collection is dedicated to them.
Photographic positions that have shaped their medium – and the names still carrying it forward today.
From the first photograph in 1826 to the digital present: the History of
Photography is a story of constant reinvention – from looking through the camera obscura to the fine art print. This
collection makes that journey visible: from the pioneers of the medium to today's photographic voices.
Pioneers of Photography
Berenice Abbott documented New York in transition and insisted that
photography go its own way – not the way of painting. Robert Lebeck
shaped decades of German visual history as a photojournalist, among others for Stern magazine. Both prove: a good photograph
needs no trend to endure.
Glamour and Zeitgeist
Slim Aarons photographed, in his own words, "attractive people doing
attractive things in attractive places" – creating the defining image of post-war high society.
Bert Stern revolutionized advertising photography and created one of the
most famous portraits of Marilyn Monroe with "The Last Sitting."
Limited Editions of a 200-Year History
Every work in this collection is strictly limited and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Produced in gallery quality, it
brings the substance of 200 years of photographic history to your wall – not as a poster, but as an edition that lasts.
