Floral fireworks: An Doan Nguyen moved from Vietnam to Europe to study Fine Arts and Art History at Wimbledon College of Art. The Scandinavian surrounding became not only home but also the source of inspiration and place of origin of his dreamlike, photo-realistic paintings with a touch of surrealism reminiscent of masterpieces by Gerhard Richter. The aesthetic of both photography and painting coalescence behind a veil of drips of color: The viewer seems to look through a misted window or a lens covered in raindrops. Enveloped by the scent of the Asian flora, the viewer is let in on the mysteries of the exotic world of plants.
