The Dab Penguin, created by Vittorio Gennari, is more than a sculpture—it is a statement. With the iconic dab pose—a gesture of triumph born in sports and spread across the globe—it rises as a symbol of pride and survival. “I am here, and I am a hero,” it seems to say: a call not to overlook the fate of endangered species. For in the past fifty years, 60% of the world’s penguins have disappeared.
Gennari translates this message into the visual language of low-poly aesthetics: clear lines, faceted planes, refined with enamel and precious metal. A figure so reduced it seems to be vanishing—an image of the fragile balance of our planet. The power of the work lies in this tension between proud gesture and precarious presence.
The Dab Penguin is produced by Bosa, one of Italy’s most renowned ceramic ateliers, nestled at the foot of the Venetian Alps. Since 1976, Bosa has combined masterful craftsmanship with bold innovation, creating a signature language that has led to collaborations with Ferrari, De Beers, and Baccarat.A share of the proceeds supports the WWF—making the Dab Penguin not only an iconic design object, but also a commitment to safeguarding our future.
