BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Pure feeling of life:Music Tableaus capture the allure of historic festivals and legendary music clubs, transforming them into immersive compositions. The extraordinary works are soulful journeys through time filled with rock ‘n roll, flower power, and rebellion.

Woodstock 1969
3 Days of Love, Peace & Music. Woodstock was more than just a festival; it was a milestone in music history as well as a catalyst for social change. Rock and hippie movement superstars made unforgettable appearances: the legendary psychedelic rock band The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin flown in by helicopter and, of course, Jimi Hendrix playing the American national anthem in a way never before seen.
Woodstock was a huge success, much bigger than anticipated. Chaotic traffic cause by unexpected festival goers led to many fans abandoning their cars and walking to the festival site. It was a once in a lifetime experience that continues to be a topi of conversation today, decades later.

Live Aid 1985

The best live act in music history? Queen at the Live Aid concert in 1985. Freddie Mercury came on stage, causing a full Wembley Stadium to shake. It was the climax of a previously unheard-of musical concept. On two stages in London and Philadelphia, the greatest musicians of their time performed in front of an audience of more than 170,000 fans and a staggering 2 billion TV viewers. Heartbreaker Bryan Adams was there, as was the eccentric Mick Jagger and soulful guitar virtuoso Eric Clapton. The proceeds benefited famine relief in Ethiopia, making Live Aid a legendary event the continues to inspire.

Monterey Pop Festival 1967

Two years before Woodstock, a festival took place in Monterey, California, resulting in breakthroughs for artists like Jimi Hendrix and The Who. At the time, the hippie movement was still in its infancy and gained momentum from the festival. Ravi Shankar performed with his siter, bringing the harmonious and spiritual sounds of India to the audience. The Mamas and the Papas sang about the dreamlike warmth of California and Otis Redding brought soul to the big stage. A new attitude towards life began to take shape in Monterey and henceforth influenced the course of music history.

Star Club (Hamburg) 1965

The Beatles performed the opening act, laying the foundation for the overwhelming success of Hamburg's Star Club. In its history of only seven years, the music club in the heart of St. Pauli became an internationally renowned address. Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, and countless other stars made appearances here and many up-and-coming artists made a name for themselves on its stage. The informal atmosphere and proximity to the musicians curated the club’s charm. Keeping off your feet was impossible, as everyone wanted to dance and be as close to the stars as possible.
