The picture editor’s cut

A shoot came back from the lab as a box of slides. Somebody set them out on a light table, leaned in with a loupe, and decided which frames the world would ever see. Everything else went back in the box.

These nine came out again with his own notes still on the mounts: places, names, years, box numbers. Each one is a small piece of photographic history.

“I photograph attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.”
