Background Information about TOM DIXON

Introduction

With the JACK Paperweight, Tom Dixon translates the distinctive silhouette of his iconic JACK lamp into a compact object carved from natural stone. Hand-crafted from coloured marble or onyx, the design combines functional weight with sculptural presence. Individual veining and tonal variations make every piece unique – a small design object that brings material and form into sharp focus.

Tom Dixon (*1959) is a British designer known for his experimental use of materials, industrial production techniques and sculptural forms. Largely self-taught, he first gained international recognition with the S-Chair for Cappellini and later became widely known for the iconic JACK lamp.
