Instead of sitting in front of bread, wine and a roasted lamb, the party guests of the last Supper sit before an inextricable jumble of cables. And instead of the existential shock in the face of imminent betrayal, they are amused by the tangled confusion welling over the table. The spiritual connection of the apostle is replaced by a virtual one, which regardless of the general amusement appears confused. Modern communication with all its farces and facets is on display with the instruments of modern computer technology in the work of artistic partners, Horvat Miha (1976) and Metka Golec (1972) from Maribor. The duo, living in Vienna and working together since 2000 under the name son:DA, reflects fun and media society with a full dose of irony in performances, installations and computer graphics. Their presence is oriented on screens, memory cards and telephones without their existence becoming unimaginable. Perpetual tangibility and permanent wiring make the protagonists in the works of son:DA available and dependent. But, they are well informed and conscious as they are critical and mature citizens and don’t want it any other way. Everything is about perfecting happiness. The ceiling in the room was long ago adapted for a reclining position for the residents, the exterior bed and computer needs nothing else. But even high ceilings have a practical purpose - they become denser and denser, cluttered with the same electrical sockets because that is in the end what modern civilization makes of it: everyone has the choice to opt for a socket. Global networking and informed society are becoming focused on their own instruments. Through these instruments, the symbols of a nice and happy person in their ideal, pristine home are developing a subversive energy. The protagonists themselves transform themselves into virtual figures within the products of the graphic programs, which ensnare them through a modern fetish with communication doubting everything but their own free will.
